Presidents Cup - Preview

The International Team will look to win the Presidents Cup for the first time since 1998 as they take on the United States Team in New Jersey this week.

The Presidents Cup is held every two years and is hosted alternately in the United States and in countries represented by the International Team.

USA retained the trophy in South Korea two years ago, and now the International Team are looking to win for only the second time since the inception in 1994.

The first three days of the competition will consist of a mix of foursomes and fourballs, with 12 single matches taking place on the final day.

Both teams will feature the ten players who have earned the most ranking points in the last two years, with each captain also having two wildcard picks.

USA captain Steve Stricker has an exceptionally talented group of players to pick from when planning his pairings over the first three days.

He has three 2017 major winners at his disposal in the shape of Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, as well as world number one Dustin Johnson and the mercurial Patrick Reed.

Zimbabwean Nick Price leads the International Team for third consecutive tournament and is able to call upon the likes of Adam Scott, Louis Oosthuizen and Hideki Matsuyama across the four days.
